Tentackle -
or the Difference between Theory and Practice
Without going into too much detail --
more on that can be found at tentackle.org --
the intention of our Java framework is to close the gap between theory and practice,
at least a little.
Despite the technological elegance and superiority of Java, behind many a door the green
pasture will be awaiting the puzzled developer.Of course, this is not due to the lack of development. It is the pure intent, and in a sense an essential part of the nature of this fascinating technology. The Java platform just wants to be as open and flexible as possible, in order not to miss chances and not to restrict the developers.
However, this rather academic approach sometimes has its drawbacks. In fact, you will find more issues than you might have expected, that have to be developed from the ground up, especially compared to commercial closed source platforms, where many of these things are available out of the box.
This is where Tentackle comes in. It provides master plans for the uncultivated countryside.
